FAQ
Are Nimba products organic?
Nimba products are natural. We work with a certified organic laboratory to manufacture our products that contain between 61% and 93% of certified organic ingredients. We continue the search for those that are difficult to find in organic farming.
Are your products safe and clean?
Absolutely, Nimba products are free of any controversial ingredients such as parabens, phenoxyethanol, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, synthetic colours, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS), sodium laureth sulphate (SLEs), ethanolamines, EDTA or mineral oil.
In Nimba we only select ingredients that are safe for you and for the environment.
Are your products vegan and cruelty free?
Yes, all our products are free from any animal derived ingredient and certainly cruelty free as animal testing has been banned in Europe since 2009.
Where are Nimba products made?
All Nimba products are manufactured and packaged in Spain. We designed our formulas with mainly native Mediterranean and European raw ingredients. Whenever possible we source our botanical ingredients from Andalucia, where the manufacturing laboratory is based, such as virgin Olive oil, Aloe vera, Cistus and Bitter Chamomile to name a few.
Sometimes our search for the most powerful medicinal plants take us to remote places, like India for the Neem or Africa for the Shea butter, where those plants are native.
What is your packaging made of?
We constantly look for the most sustainable packaging, that’s why we picked glass for our jars and FSC certified cardboard for our outer packaging as they are recyclable material minimising their environmental impact.
We urge you to follow your local recycling guidelines to dispose of your cosmetics packaging correctly.
How should I store my products?
Store in a cool, dry place, avoiding exposure to excessive heat or sudden temperature changes to maintain its consistency. If the balm melts due to temperatures above 30°C, you can restore its texture by placing it in the freezer.
Why does the texture of my balm change?
The organic, unrefined Shea Butter in our balm melts at warm temperatures and may form small granules in cooler environments. These granules melt on contact with the skin during application, without affecting the active properties of the balm.
To restore smoothness, warm the balm near a gentle heat source until it melts, then place it in the freezer so the ingredients solidify evenly, restoring the original smooth texture.
Can I use your products if I have sensitive or reactive skin?
Our products are designed with sensitive and reactive skin in mind, but we always recommend that you test the product in a small area first to see if the product is suitable for your skin.
Can I use your products on children, during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Our products are formulated with natural ingredients carefully selected to soothe and support problematic skin, but they contain essential oils, therefore we do not recommend using them on children under 3 years old, during pregnancy or breastfeeding. However, they are an excellent option for older children and teenagers who may be dealing with skin issues like dryness, irritation, or acne, providing gentle yet effective care.
Does your product contain any allergens?
The ingredients that we use are virgin, pure and unrefined, therefore the vegetable oils extracted from nuts could provoke allergies in people with nut allergy. Some of the aroma components of essential oils can cause allergies, such as Linalool and Geraniol. For the above reasons we always recommend that you test the product in a small area first to see if the product is suitable for your skin.
Can I use Nimba products during the day?
Yes, Nimba products are safe to use day and night but we always recommend the use of sunscreen before any sun exposure to avoid sun damage and spots on your skin.
Do Nimba products contain preservatives?
We only use a safe and gentle to the skin preservative that is approved by ECOCERT. Regarding our Nimba Neem & Olive Balm is 100% natural, waterless and free of preservatives, therefore only requires to be stored in a cool and dry place to maintain its qualities intact.
Does your product expire?
Nimba products are freshly made and once opened we recommend using them within six months. However, we always recommend looking for the PAO (Period After Opening) symbol, which is represented by an open jar with the number of months that the product can be used after opening.
